1. Scope and Applicable Documents
This Vehicle Return Policy applies to self-drive cars, SUVs, vans and, where offered, motorcycles rented through ASTERIA Car Luxury, operated by ASTERIA Car SARL in Morocco. Chauffeur-driven services may have different return arrangements.
The confirmed booking, vehicle condition report, Rental Agreement and applicable Terms & Conditions govern the specific return obligations. If any statement on this page differs from mandatory Moroccan law, the applicable law prevails.
2. Agreed Return Date, Time and Location
The renter must return the vehicle on the date, at the time and to the location agreed in the Rental Agreement. Please confirm the exact meeting point and contact instructions before departure.
A return extension or change of location must be requested and expressly accepted by ASTERIA in advance. An unanswered request does not constitute approval.
3. Return Appointments and Collection
Returns may be arranged at an ASTERIA location or an agreed airport, hotel, residence or business address. Service availability, operating hours and logistics will be confirmed for each booking.
Delivery, collection, one-way and out-of-hours charges, if any, must be disclosed in the quotation, booking confirmation or Rental Agreement before they become payable. See Delivery & Collection.
4. Vehicle Inspection at Return
At handover, ASTERIA and the renter should record the vehicle condition, mileage, fuel level and return time, ideally in a jointly acknowledged report supported by photographs where appropriate.
Normal wear and tear is not treated as damage. If the renter cannot attend the inspection, ASTERIA should document the vehicle promptly and provide relevant findings and evidence; this does not by itself establish renter liability.
5. Fuel Level and Mileage
Unless the booking confirms a different arrangement, return the vehicle with the fuel level recorded at pickup. A documented shortfall may result in the reasonable cost of the missing fuel and any previously disclosed refuelling service fee.
The agreed mileage allowance and excess-kilometre rate are set out in the relevant booking or Rental Agreement. Unlimited mileage applies only if expressly confirmed.
6. Late Returns and Unauthorised Extensions
Please contact ASTERIA as soon as you anticipate a delay. An extension is valid only after express approval, including any additional rental rate and updated return time.
Unapproved late returns may incur additional rental and recovery or relocation costs only where contractually disclosed, reasonable and permitted by Moroccan law. ASTERIA will avoid duplicate or disproportionate charges.
7. Early Returns and Unused Rental Days
Returning a vehicle before the agreed end date does not automatically entitle the renter to a refund of unused rental days.
Any refund or modification is assessed under the confirmed booking and our Cancellation & Refund Policy, without limiting mandatory consumer rights.
8. Keys, Documents, Accessories and Personal Belongings
Return all supplied keys, vehicle documents, equipment and accessories, including any agreed motorcycle equipment. Missing or damaged items may lead to reasonable and evidenced replacement costs, where the renter is responsible.
Remove personal belongings before handing back the vehicle. If an item is found, contact ASTERIA promptly to arrange collection; any shipping charge should be agreed in advance.
9. Cleaning, Damage and Tyres
The vehicle must be returned in substantially the condition recorded at pickup, allowing for normal wear and tear. Exceptional cleaning, interior damage or missing equipment may be charged only when justified and permitted by the Rental Agreement and law.
Damage, tyre and glass claims must be assessed with regard to the documented circumstances and the relevant insurance policy. A damage allegation does not automatically make the full repair cost payable by the renter.
10. Accidents, Theft or Breakdown Before Return
If there is an accident, theft, damage or mechanical breakdown, contact ASTERIA as soon as reasonably possible and follow safety instructions. Where required, contact the competent authorities and obtain the appropriate report.
Do not arrange significant repairs without authorisation except where immediately necessary for safety. See Accident & Breakdown and Insurance & Protection.
11. Security Deposits and Card Pre-authorisations
A security deposit or card pre-authorisation is separate from an insurance excess. ASTERIA will review the rental account and vehicle return before requesting release of any unused pre-authorised balance or processing an eligible refund.
The timing of availability of pre-authorised funds depends on the issuing bank and payment provider. Any deduction or charge must have a lawful, contractual basis and supporting explanation. Specific deposit amounts and applicable release conditions are confirmed for each rental.
12. Insurance Excess, Depreciation and Loss of Rental Income
For cars, SUVs and vans, comprehensive motor insurance applies subject to the actual vehicle policy, limits and exclusions. A contractual insurance excess may apply where the renter or an authorised driver is responsible. Motorcycles do not benefit from comprehensive own-damage cover under ASTERIA’s stated motorcycle arrangements; applicable third-party liability cover and rider responsibilities must be explained separately.
An insurer’s depreciation deduction, unrecovered VAT or uninsured loss does not automatically become a charge payable by the renter. Any claim must be legally and contractually justified and supported by evidence.
If a responsible incident causes necessary vehicle downtime, ASTERIA may seek compensation only for actual, reasonably documented net loss of rental income directly attributable to the incident, taking account of avoided costs, replacement arrangements and compensation already received. No loss will be recovered twice.
13. Disputes and Supporting Documents
Customers may request an itemised explanation and reasonable supporting documentation for any post-rental claim, such as the condition report, dated photographs, repair estimates or invoices and relevant contractual provisions.
ASTERIA and the renter should seek an amicable resolution first. Unresolved disputes are governed by applicable Moroccan law and competent jurisdiction.
14. Motorcycle Returns
Where motorcycle rental is expressly confirmed, the agreed return time, condition check, fuel policy, mileage allowance and equipment return requirements apply, together with motorcycle-specific terms.
The absence of comprehensive own-damage insurance for the motorcycle must be clearly disclosed before booking. Rider liability remains subject to the Rental Agreement, evidence and applicable Moroccan law.
